Sir Robin Wales with head teacher Marion Rosen and pupils from the school
Mayor Sir Robin Wales visited pupils at Keir Hardie School, Canning Town, to congratulate them on their involvement in last year's Newham Carnival. Schools that participated in the carnival, which took place around the streets of East Ham last summer, are all being presented with an engraved silver plate award. The Mayor presented the award to head teacher Marion Rosen and the students at the school. Each pupil was also presented with a medal to keep in recognition of their involvement in the event. Sir Robin said: "The children told me about how much they enjoyed getting involved in the carnival. It was a pleasure for me to be able to honour their involvement. "The carnival is always a colourful and vibrant event and gives us the chance to get together and have fun as a community."
